During a Needles City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, April 8th, 2014 in Needles, California, a Public Hearing was held regarding Agenda Item #2: Public hearing noticed to consider all evidence and testimony for or against proposed fares for ridership on the Needles Area Transit (N.A.T.) Jack Smith Park Seasonal Express Route effective as of Thursday, May 1st, 2014.

This will be on a trial basis and limited transportation service to Jack Smith Park starting at the G Street bus stop near the Needles Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Needles, California.

The bus service will run in May 2014 only on Saturdays and from June 2014 to August 2015 from Monday to Saturday.

Bus fare will be $1.10 per ride and there will be a new Transfer Fee of $.50 only applicable at the Transfer Point at the G Street bus stop near the Needles Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Needles, California. Route Deviations will still be $.50 on Needles Area Transit (N.A.T.) bus.

There will be limits on what riders can carry onto the bus; no chairs, rafts, ice chests, and other river paraphernalia.

A ice chest that can be held in your lap will be allow and river inflatables will be allowed but only when not inflated and is carried inside a bag.

The “2 Bags Limit” rule will still be enforce on the new Needles Area Transit (N.A.T.) Jack Smith Park Seasonal Express Route and riders are asked to make sure that all of their items are dry and clean before getting onto the bus.

After discussing and asking questions regarding this agenda item, members of the Needles City Council voted unanimously on the proposed fares for ridership on the Needles Area Transit (N.A.T.) Jack Smith Park Seasonal Express Route effective as of Thursday, May 1st, 2014.
