News Update!!: Needles, CA: Southwest Gas continues to restore service as work to reimburse businesses begin.
According to several businesses in Needles, California, Joe Jones, business owner, is talking to businesses and with Southwest Gas on how to reimburse those businesses affected by the Southwest Gas outage.
Many businesses as well as restaurants had to close down during the Southwest Gas outage leaving many in the community unable to go to their favorite eateries and loss money that day or days and angry what cause the outage which Southwest Gas can only say, “third party” or do not want to comment or name.
ZachNews asked Cynthia Messina at Southwest Gas Corporation regarding reimbursing those businesses affected by the Southwest Gas outage.
“Business customers impacted by this outage can contact Southwest Gas Customer Assistance, toll free at 877-860-6020 with any questions,” said Cynthia Messina at Southwest Gas Corporation.
On Thursday, ZachNews asked Stephen Miller, Analyst I, Communications at Southwest Gas Corporation regarding what was posted on the Southwest Gas’ News Bulletins website alerting customers about the Southwest Gas outage which said, “Southwest Gas is experiencing an outage in Needles, California, due to a third party.”
ZachNews received an email talking about the “third party” from Stephen Miller, Analyst I, Communications at Southwest Gas Corporation saying, “The standard in the utility industry is to not release the names of third parties until the investigation into the situation has been completed. While it is a pretty straightforward incident, we need to follow the policies set forth in the industry and those that we practice internally,” said Stephen Miller, Analyst I, Communications at Southwest Gas Corporation.
When ZachNews named a company that that is being said to be the cause of this outage which Stephen Miller, Analyst I, Communications at Southwest Gas Corporation told ZachNews, “I will refer to my previous response about third parties.”
ZachNews has received the latest information as work continues Friday afternoon from a Southwest Gas outage in Needles, California that happened Wednesday morning.
As of 3:30pm PT, according to Southwest Gas, “Southwest Gas continues to restore service to our customers in Needles, Calif. An adult over 18 years of age must be at home for service to be restored. Southwest Gas will make multiple visits to attempt to restore service. After the last attempt, we will leave a door tag with the phone number to call to request a service call. As a reminder to those affected by this outage, Southwest Gas does not ask for payment for service to be restored. If you are approached by someone asking for money to restore service, contact Southwest Gas immediately.”
With the 6th Annual Route 66 Hot Boat, Custom Car Show, and Golf Tournament beginning on Friday, February 21st, 2014, many people coming into Needles, California for the event are wondering if the gas has been restored to all of the restaurants, motels, and hotels in Needles, California.
