News Update!!: Needles, CA: Work continues on the Southwest Gas outage in Needles, California.
According to Southwest Gas at 6:00pm PT, “SWG is in the process of restoring service in Needles. Southwest Gas personnel and contractors have completed turn offs of each customer meter. The first pass of relights has begun. An adult over 18 years of age must be at home for service to be restored. Southwest Gas will make multiple visits to attempt to restore service. After the last attempt, SWG will leave a door tag with the phone number to call to request a service call.”
ZachNews was at the command center for Southwest Gas near the intersection of East Broadway and Goodwill Street in Needles, California.
From where ZachNews was located, over 36 trucks with Southwest Gas, Arizona Pipeline Company, and N.P.C. logos on them and over 40 work crews where at the command center as they all got there assignment then headed out into the community.
At 6:16pm PT, ZachNews has received an update by email from Stephen Miller, Analyst I, Communications at Southwest Gas Corporation regarding the gas outage in Needles, California.
“All of the gas turn-offs have been completed and the first pass of relights has begun,” said Stephen Miller, Analyst I, Communications at Southwest Gas Corporation.

Many businesses and restaurants are either partly open serving some food or fully closed for the day due to the Southwest Gas outage.
Some have been asking if there was a leak somewhere in Needles, California that may have caused this outage.
