Downtown Needles, California: Employees at the popular Burger Hut eatery are cleaning up the mess left behind after a burglary occurred on Tuesday, February 18th, 2014 leaving property damage.
On his way to another news story, ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez was alerted by Burger Hut employees of the break in at this popular eatery for locals as well as Route 66 travelers located at 701 West Broadway near D Street.
ZachNews captured on camera the aftermath left behind, including a broken pipe, broken glass from a near by window, and a cash register that was broken apart and was found on the ground.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Colorado River Station responded to the incident, and took a report.
Burger Hut employees tell ZachNews that they did have a security system with ADT Security Services, but an employee for ADT Security Services told ZachNews that the motion detector didn’t set off the alarm when the window broke.
