Pasadena, CA: 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

The 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade will be held on Wednesday, January 1st, 2014 starting at 8:00am PT along Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena, California.

This year’s Tournament of Roses Parade theme is, “Dreams Come True” and will feature over 50 floral floats, 20 marching bands, and 16 equestrian units.

This year’s Tournament of Roses Parade Grand Marshal will be the legendary voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers Vin Scully who will be riding in the 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade and will toss the coin at the start of the 100th Rose Bowl Game.

While all grandstand seating for the 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade are all sold out, free curbside viewing is available on a first-come and first-served basis.

People can begin camping out along the sidewalk on Colorado Boulevard at 12:00pm PT on Tuesday, December 31st, 2013.

The Pasadena Police Department as well as the Pasadena Fire Departments estimate there will be around 700,000 people along the 5 1/2 mile 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade route.

Over 1,000 uniformed and undercover police department officers will be making sure that everything is peaceful and safe, but authorities are asking everybody planning to attend the 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade to be on the watch for trouble and to report all suspicious activities.

The 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade will be also having protests this year. Gay marriage, animal rights, and the economy are among the issues that activists are planning to address during the 125th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade.

A protest organized by a woman who is against gay marriage and another protest organized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (P.E.T.A.) plans to protest the Sea World sponsored float.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation has sponsored a float that will feature the parade’s first same-sex marriage ceremony.

A San Diego woman has created a Facebook page boycotting the event, saying the Tournament of Roses Parade is a family event that shouldn’t be involved in what she calls a “political agenda.”

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (P.E.T.A.) supporters will be protesting a float sponsored by Sea World, which features a boy diving into a sea of ocean life, including a family of killer whales.

According to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (P.E.T.A.), Sea World covers up animal abuse and captivity, and instead portrays a deceptively happy image.

According to Sea World, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (P.E.T.A.) efforts are just a publicity stunt.

Authorities are aware of these protests and are prepared in case of any problems, but hope that everything remains calm, peaceful, and respectful.
