Ridgeline, CA: At least 2 people and an unborn child are dead in vehicle rollover crash down a hill.
At around 12:59am PT on Sunday, December 22nd, 2013, a silver 2003 Nissan Altima rolled down a 200′ embankment on the 3800 block of North Ridge Line Drive in Ridgeline, California.
At least 2 people and an unborn child were killed and at least 3 other people were injured in the crash.
According to the San Bernardino Police Department, the vehicle was carrying 5 people and was headed up the hill which the road makes a slight curve, but the driver in the vehicle continued going straight and traveled right over the edge then rolled over several times felling 200 feet down the hill landing in a ravine.
According to the San Bernardino Police Department, 24 year old Cesar Andrew Caro of San Bernardino, California and 19 year old Jennifer Blancas of Banning, California were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third person, identified as a 23 year old man from San Bernardino, California, was ejected from the vehicle and was immediately rescued then transported to the near by hospital with multiple fractures to his spine.
Authorities are saying that a 19 year old female and a 19 year old pregnant woman were reportedly trapped inside the vehicle.
The pregnant woman was airlifted to a near by hospital, but suffered extensive injuries including the loss of her unborn child and the 19 year old female did not suffer any substantial injuries.
The San Bernardino Police Department are still investigating the accident, but investigators are saying that there was evidence at the scene that indicates most of the occupants in the car were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
