Needles, CA: The new “Friends of the Centennial” group will handle left over money from Needles Centennial Celebration.

During a Needles Centennial Committee Meeting held inside the clubhouse room at the River Gardens Apartment in Needles, California, members of the Needles Centennial Committee approved to have the left over funds from the Needles Centennial Celebration held in October 2013 in Needles, California to be placed in a non profit umbrella group so that the City of Needles would no longer be responsible for the funds. 

Members of the Needles Centennial Committee formed a new group called, “Friends of the Centennial”. The group was formed in order to promote events that would give back to the residents of the community and community charities selected by the new group using the money left over from the sale of Needles Centennial Celebration Merchandise. Centennial Merchandise which are still being sold even after the Needles Centennial Celebration which was held Friday, October 4th, 2013 to Sunday, October 6th, 2013 in Needles, California which celebrates the 100th year centennial celebration of the incorporation of Needles, California.

The new group selected City of Needles Mayor Doctor Edward T. Paget as President, Margot McKee as Vice President, Norma Jean Williams as Secretary, and Robbyn Dundons as Treasurer.

Well during the Needles Centennial Committee Meeting, a little heated disagreements over an email that was sent out members of the Needles Centennial Committee, the frozen of funds, and the City of Needles’ Budget Committee between 2 members of the Needles Centennial Committee.

The 2 members of the Needles Centennial Committee are identified as Needles Centennial Committee and Needles City Council Member Linda Kidd and Needles Centennial Committee Member Robert Shaw (Bob).

The little heated disagreement did not last long and members of the Needles Centennial Committee got back on topic.
