Needles, CA: 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days continues today.

The 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days is being held from Friday, October 18th, 2013 to Saturday, October 19th, 2013 in Needles, California.

The 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days’ theme for this year is, “Carrying the Warrior Spirit Within”.

The 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days events are open to the public and admission is free.

**** The following is a list of events and locations related to the 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days: ****

** Saturday, October 19th, 2013: **

– The 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days Parade at 10:30am PT along along West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California.

The parade will start at I Street and Front Street south to West Broadway where the parade will head east on West Broadway until D Street where the parade will end.

Due to the 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days Parade happening on Saturday, October 19th, 2013, streets in the Downtown Needles, California will be closed starting an hour before the parade that starts at 10:30am PT.

The following streets will be closed: Front Street from A Street to D Street and from G Street to J Street, I Street from Front Street to West Broadway, West Broadway from D Street to I Street, and D Street from West Broadway to Front Street.

Detours around the parade street closures are as follows: C Street and D Street from West Broadway to Third Street, Third Street from C Street and D Street to J Street, and J Street from Third Street to West Broadway.

Please plan ahead as street closures are subject to change without notice by the organizers.

All of the parade winners will be announced between 12:00pm and 1:00pm PT at the 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days Event at California Village Park.

– The 37th Annual Fort Mojave Indian Days Event will be held beginning at 10:00am PT in the California Village Park located at 500 Merriman Avenue in Needles, California.

A horseshoe tournament and frybread eating contest sign-ups and the Shinny National Championship team sign-ups will be happening during the event.

Starting at 10:00am PT until 12:00pm PT, there will be a workshop in the gymnasium next to California Village Park. A luncheon will be held after the workshop starting at 12:00pm until 1:00pm PT. A second workshop will be held starting at 1:00pm until 3:00pm PT after luncheon.

Parade winners will be announced and awarded starting at 12:00pm and 1:00pm PT.

Starting at 2:00pm PT, Men’s and Women’s Tug-O-War Competition, a Horseshoe Tournament, and the Shinny Games will be held in Spirit Runners Park located at the corner of Harrison Street and Merriman Avenue.

A Frybread Eating Contest will be held starting at 2:30pm PT outside the gymnasium.

Kids games will be held in California Village Park starting at 3:00pm PT.

Entertainment will resume at 4:00pm PT in California Village Park.

Starting at 5:00pm PT, a Wahoo Tournament will be held starting at 5:00pm PT and cost $20.00 per team.

The Fort Mojave Royalty Pageant crowning will be held from 7:00pm to 10:00pm PT.

A Bird Dance and singing contest will be held from 7:00pm to 10:00pm PT.
