– Downtown Needles, California:

Due to the removal of a large tanker under Santa Fe Park, drivers should be on alert for addition street closures or traffic restrictions near the intersection of Front Street and G Street. This removal of this large tanker from under Santa Fe Park may happen between Tuesday, June 25th, 2013 to Thursday, June 27th, 2013. As of Thursday, October, 3rd, 2013, H Street at Front Street, Front Street from I Street to G Street, and G Street at Front Street remain closed.

– Near Needles, California:

According to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) website, mill and overlay the existing asphalt is being done and is being done in and near Needles, California on Interstate 40 from Buzzard Wash to the California State Line. The construction project began on Thursday, March 7th, 2013 and estimate completion date is set for Monday, May 19th, 2014.

News Update!!: Hualian, Taiwan: Magnitude 6.6 earthquake has occurred near Hualian, Taiwan.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 6.6 earthquake occurred near Hualian, Taiwan at around 12:02:09 UTC on Wednesday, October 31st, 2013.

The strong earthquake caused buildings to shake over a wide area of Taiwan including the capital of Taiwan.

At this moment, there is no immediate reports of serious damage or casualties, but because of the remoteness of the epicenter where this earthquake occurred, it could take some time for the full impact of the earthquake.

Taiwan’s Railway Administration has immediately suspended all train service while it checked for any possible damage to tracks.

According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, no tsunami warnings have been issued due to this earthquake.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Administrative Monthly Report for September 2013 was posted for the public as agenda item #1 during last Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting in Needles, California.

According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Administrative Monthly Report for September 2013, San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a total of 77 request for assistance.

Division wide, San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a total of 583 incidents in the South Desert area during September 2013.

Estimated fire lose totaled $55,000 dollars and value lose totaled $75,000 dollars during September 2013.

For City of Needles response area year to date, non-fire response were totaled 847, fire responses totaled 47, and alarms totaled 894.

** Significant events includes: **

– Fire Prevention Week was held from Monday, October 7th, 2013 to Sunday, October 13th, 2013.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department stopped by at local schools around Needles, California and provided information for home safety like kitchen safety tips such as how to never put water on a grease fire; stop, drop, cover your face if possible, and roll in case your clothes catch on fire; and keeping the door closed or close the door of your microwave and unplug the microwave then be sure to have it checked out before using in case of a microwave fire.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department wants the public to know to always have a safety plan in case of a fire and to practice what to do to escape a fire.

The public should always be prepared for any emergency and have an emergency kit ready to go.

Downtown Needles, CA: Fun times by all during the Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Parade and Carnival last Saturday.

Downtown Needles, CA: Fun times by all during the Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Parade and Carnival last Saturday.

Families from around the community came to have a fun time during the Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Parade and Carnival hold last at Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California.

This year’s Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Parade and Carnival theme was “When I Grow Up” and children were dress up in costumes showing who they dream to be when they grow up.

Many of those children in costumes participated in the Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Parade along H Street then onto West Broadway to G Street then ending on Front Street at Santa Fe Park where everybody cheered.

Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Parade winners were announced and awarded later that afternoon well families enjoyed the many fun activities, games, entertainment, and goodies being offered at the Parent Teacher Association’s Kiddie Carnival held in Santa Fe Park.

There was also activities to welcome in Halloween early and even a pumpkin patch was there for the kids.

It was a fun and great time for the whole family.

Downtown Needles, CA: Larger turnout during last Wednesday’s Meet ‘n’ Greet event at Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store.

The Needles Chamber of Commerce and the Needles Downtown Business Alliance held a Meet ‘n’ Greet event last Wednesday at the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Downtown Needles, California.

Members of the business community around Needles, California as well as members from the City of Needles enjoyed socializing with people well enjoying the great food.

This year’s Meet ‘N’ Greet event at Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store was a larger turnout then last year’s Meet ‘N’ Greet event.

During the Meet ‘N’ Greet event, Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store Manager George DeLeon asked Needles City Council Member Linda Kidd to come up and to presented a proclamation from the California Legislature Assembly Republican Member Tim Donnelly to Richard Telles for being a pass mayor for the City of Needles in Needles, California.

An Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store employee tells ZachNews that the break in that occurred in early October 2013 has not and will not stop the good and hard working work providing food, clothing, and needed services to our community.

Needles City Council Member Linda Kidd won $40.00 on the 50/50 raffle during the Meet ‘N’ Greet event which she donated to Saint Vincent de Paul.

Saint Vincent de Paul helps the community which provides food, clothing, and needed services to help those in need and those who are homeless.

– San Bernardino, CA: Searching for a missing parolee convicted in a 2004 rape.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a man who was convicted in a 2004 rape of a 80 year old woman after the man turned up missing.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, 55 year old Dennis Michael McKenzie was released from a state prison and was paroled to a halfway house in Long Beach, California.

The man was sentenced in 2006 for 7 years in jail and a month later, decided to took a plea bargain.

Dennis Michael McKenzie is suspected of making more than 50 threatening and obscene phone calls to his victim’s family.

Authorities are saying that Dennis Michael McKenzie cut off his G.P.S. ankle monitor.

Dennis Michael McKenzie has a history of frequenting the Lake Arrowhead, California area and known to frequent the California communities of Long Beach, Banning, and Palm Springs.

– Rancho Cucamonga, CA: Fatal Traffic Collision.

At around 6:31pm PT on Sunday, October 27th, 2013, 23 year old Adrian Ibarra of Rancho Cucamonga, California was driving west on Foothill Boulevard and came to a stop as the first vehicle in the left turn lane at the intersection of Grove Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

When the light turned green, Adrian Ibarra made a left turn and began driving south on Grove Avenue in the number two lane.

At the same time, a witness observed a male subject jogging west from a back alley on the east side of Grove Avenue.

The male then ran south on the east shoulder of Grove Avenue.

For unknown reasons, the male made a right turn and ran across Grove Avenue toward the west curb.

The male crossed two northbound lanes, a center turn lane and one southbound lane before Adrian Ibarra’s vehicle collided into the male near the center line of the vehicle in the number two lane.

The unidentified male was transported to San Antonio Community Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Adrian Ibarra was not injured as a result of the collision.

The accident is being investigation by the Rancho Cucamonga Traffic Division.
