Needles, CA: Needles City Council approved a $5.00 a day overflow parking fee at Jack Smith Park.
During a Needles City Council Meeting held on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013, members of the Needles City Council Meeting approved a $5.00 a day parking fee for the overflow parking area at Jack Smith Park.
Members of the Needles City council approved Resolution 2013-29 imposing a fee for parking at Jack Smith Park’s additional parking area which would be effective Friday, September 13th, 2013.
The fiscal impact is unknown at this time, according to the agenda item packet, but states that due to the number of patrons who use the overflow additional parking on a daily basis and especially weekend, there is a guaranteed increase in revenue.
The overflow parking area is just to the right of the kiosk entry into Jack Smith Park on River Road and is mainly covered with broken up gravel and small rocks. Part of the far western end of the overflow lot is dirt covered with an exit out onto Santa Fe Road which leads back to River Road.
