– 2 closed gas stations reopened.
2 gas stations closed along East Broadway on the eastside of Needles, California have reopen for service.
Both of these gas stations are near the Bashas Grocery Stores located inside the Needles Towne Center and just north of Interstate 40 .
News tips into ZachNews reported that the once gated and boarded of properties, Eastside Chevron Gas Station and the Eastside Mobil Gas Station, appeared to have opened their business doors and reposted the the current gasoline price as vehicles drive up, fill up, and grab something to drink as they drive on into the Mojave Desert of California.
The Eastside Chevron Gas Station located at 810 East Broadway in Needles, California has closed on Friday, April 11th, 2013 and the Eastside Mobil Gas Station located at 1005 East Broadway is planning to closed on Wednesday, April 17th, 2013.
Sources tell ZachNews that both properties were in foreclosure and sold at a auction.
– Desert Communities Federal Credit Union soon to open in old Bank of America building.
Desert Communities Federal Credit Union is reportedly working and hoping to opening their credit union inside the old Bank of America buildingt in late July 2013.
Sources tell ZachNews that the credit union’s goal and hopes to open at new location sometime in late June 2013, but that may change if something delays that goal.
There is some details regarding the inside of the old Bank of America building that still being worked on.
Back in June 2013, Desert Communities Federal Credit Union buys old Bank of America building after Bank of America closed in February 2013 their bank branch located at 1001 West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California leaving many searching for other banking services.
Sources, City of Needles’ City Clerk and the City of Needles Mayor confirmed this information to ZachNews in early June 2013 that the Desert Communities Federal Credit Union had purchase the old Bank of America building on West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California and plan to move there.
Currently, Desert Communities Federal Credit Union is located at the intersection of Third street and D Street and employees their are looking forward to the move and looking forward to offer more services for the community.
ZachNews also confirmed in early June 2013 that a flag pole in front of the old Bank of America building will be donated to be use during the National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ceremony held on October 10th next to the Needles City Council Chambers.

– Streets reopen delayed and soil samples results when?
The streets around the old El Garces Hotel remain closed passing the reopening date of Monday, July 8th, 2013 on H Street at Front Street, Front Street from I Street to G Street, G Street at Front Street, and westbound Front Street from E Street to F Street will be closed due to construction near the El Garces Hotel.
The delay may be related to the finding and removal of a tanker under Santa Fe Park. Reopening date of those streets remain unknow, but can be within the next few days or weeks.
No comments at this moment from both Kinney Construction Services and the City of Needles regarding the street closure delay as well as whem will the results for the soil samples will be posted and release to the media.
On Wednesday, June 26th, 2013, a tanker possibly to be an old railroad tanker car was holding kerosene under Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California and some of the kerosene may have leaked into the soil that is according to the City of Needles.
Soil samples were reportedly takeen during the tanker removal and sent to a lab for confirmation and results of the test will be later sent to the City of Needles.
According to the City of Needles, the possible contamination of the soil is reported to be limited and the soil will be dug out, put on plastic, and sent to a separate location to be burned.
