– Barstow, CA: Man suspected of rape is at large.
A man suspected of rape is at large and also wanted after failing to appear in court last month for an unrelated domestic violence case.
Authorities are looking for 26 year old Luther Ross Jr. of Barstow, California.
In a news release, Barstow Police Department were notified of an alleged sexual assault Wednesday and met with the reporting 18 year old victim.
Investigation revealed the victim was at a residence in the 1200 block of Lassen Drive in Barstow, California during the early morning Wednesday hours when she was allegedly assaulted by the suspect.
Barstow Police Department detectives were able to positively identify the suspect as Luther Ross Jr. and attempts to locate Luther Ross Jr. have been unsuccessful.
Luther Ross Jr. is wanted on a $250,000 warrant for not appearing at a Victorville court date Friday, May 17th, 2013 in connection with an arrest for spousal battery.
Barstow Police Department plan to forward a report to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office requesting Luther Ross Jr. be charged with rape and forced oral copulation in connection to Wednesday’s alleged assault.
Luther Ross Jr. is describe as 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds with black hair, brown eyes, and numerous tattoos on his face and upper body.

– Mojave Desert, CA: Proposed Calnev Pipeline expansion.
The Bureau of Land Management announced this week the availability of multiple environmental reports for public review regarding the proposed Calnev Pipeline expansion which would pass through portions of the Marine Corp Logistics Base and the San Bernardino National Forest as well as the California cities of Victorville, Adelanto, and Barstow.
According to a Draft General Conformity Determination, the proposed Calnev Pipeline expansion would add a 16 inch diameter pipeline to run parallel for most of the at least 233 mile route to 2 existing 14 and 8 inch diameter pipelines.
The expansion project includes plans for a new pump station and ancillary facilities near Baker, California.
The Calnev Pipe Line, LLC, is an operating partnership for Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, LP., transporting around 156,000 barrels of oil each day from pipeline’s terminus from Colton, California to North Las Vegas, Nevada.
This expansion project would increase the amount of barrels able to be transported per day to upward of 200,000.
Construction of the proposed Calnev Pipeline expansion would take about 8 months and the project is anticipated to begin before 2015.
