– Barstow, CA: Officials from the City of Barstow continue petition for Casino.

Officials from the City of Barstow are planning to head up to Sacramento, California to attend meetings with representatives with California Governor Jerry Brown and with both the Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla and Cupeno Indian Tribe on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 to continue discussions regarding a casino project in Barstow, California.

Efforts to open a new casino have been ongoing for more than 10 years which this new casino would be located near Lenwood Road and Interstate 15 in Barstow, California.

Memberes of the Barstow City Council approved $400 in traveling funds for City of Barstow Mayor Julie Hackbarth McIntyre and Mayor Pro Tem Tim Silva at a previous Barstow City Council Meeting reportedly held on Monday.

Also participating in the trip, Barstow City Manager Curt Mitchell and Assistant City Manager Oliver Chi.

City of Barstow officials do not wish to discuss the details of this upcoming meeting in Sacramento, California.

– Redlands, CA: Arson investigators are investigating an early morning blaze.

At around 2:00am PT Thursday morning, arson investigators are investigating a vehicle fire that sparked a one acre vegetation fire.

First responders responded to the fire on Live Oak Canyon Road in Redlands, California.

When first responders arrived to the scene, they found a Chevrolet van engulfed in flames and ignited the surrounding vegetation.

Authorities closed the near by street while firefighters extinguished the fire.

Firefighters quickly stopped the brush fire which was contained to an acre while firefighters also extinguished the van fire.

There was no reports of injuries or damage to structures.

The cause of the vehicle fire is still under investigation by arson investigators.

Authorities are attempting to determine if the vehicle was stolen or involved in any crimes.
