News Update!!: Downtown Needles, CA: Tanker pumped, possible liquid identified, and removal schedule.
More information has been received to ZachNews regarding the tanker found under Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California
Sources tell ZachNews on Wednesday that a tanker truck was seen pumping out the liquid out of the old and uncovered tanker under Santa Fe Park and just next to the old El Garces Hotel where the El Garces Intermodal Remodel project is underway.
Earlier this week, a tanker truck were seen pumping the old and uncovered tanker. So far, 20,000 gallon of liquid has been pumped out of the old and uncovered tanker.
Since the tanker, possibly a railroad tanker car or tanker truck, was found under Santa Fe Park, many in the community have been wondering if there was anything inside the old and uncovered tanker. ZachNews has been asking that question and gotten no response to our questions.
Unconfirmed reports that City of Needles officials and staffers are calling the mystery liquid inside the old and uncovered tanker is kerosene.
Sources tell ZachNews on Wednesday that the people they have asked, City of Needles officials and staffers, are saying that the liquid was kerosene.
The question now is where is the mystery liquid being taken to and if there is any leaks in the tanker.
In regards to the removal of the tanker, sources tell ZachNews on Wednesday that the tanker may be lifted out of the ground possibly around this coming Wednesday.
On Tuesday, sources told ZachNews that the tanker was pumped out of the liquid and is being prepared to be remove from the ground soon.
A large excavator was seen near the tanker area and may be use to dig up the ground around the tanker to clean the way to remove the tanker.
