Needles, CA: Community comes together for a Memorial Day ceremony at the Needles Riverview Cemetery.

The community of coming together on Monday for a Memorial Day ceremony at the Needles Riverview Cemetery to give thanks and remember all the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces as well as to give thanks and remember all the men and women in law enforcement well protecting and serving their community.

The community was welcomed into Needles Riverview Cemetery decorated in red, white, and blue and in flowers by wonderful and hard working volunteers from the community.

Memorial Day ceremony began with the United States of America flag was presented by members of the Needles Scout Troop 58 and the Fort Mojave Tribal Veterans Color Guard.

The reading names of the men and women who both died while serving in the United States Armed Forces and who served in law enforcement was read ending with the crowd giving thanks for their service and putting their lives on the line to protect our community and our country.

As the United States of America flag stood at half mast, a gun salute by the Fort Mojave Tribal Veterans was held as David Countwright played the Taps well.

As the Memorial Day ceremony draw to a close, those who served in the United States Armed Forces and live in our community were asked to come up and as theses great and brave people stood proudly around the United States of America flag, Fat Cat D.J. and Memorial Day ceremony organizer Natalie Johnson leads a wonderful and emotional performance of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A” as the community gave thanks for their served to their country and putting their lives so we can all live free and safe.

At the end of the Memorial Day ceremony, Sally Parry gave a remembrance of her late husband Tom Parry who was a United States Naval Officer and the former city manager for the City of Needles.

Music by the Fort Mojave Tribal Band was led by Amanda McCord closed the Memorial Day ceremony.
