Needles, CA: A group of community members of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) came together to have the outdoor movie night event which was held on Friday, November 30th, 2012 at Nikki Bunch Memorial Field in Needles, California.
Mia Rockwood, Robert Rockwood, Stephanie Jones, Danica Willis, Ian Raley, and many other volunteers came out to help put on the outdoor movie night in the park.
Volunteers sold pizza, popcorn, and hot chocolate before the movie “Arthur Christmas” started.
Admission cost to watch the movie was only a $5.00 donation or a new unwrapped toy or non-perishable food item equaling $5. Toys collected at the outdoor movie night event will go to the Needles Spark of Love Toy Drive and food collected at the outdoor movie night event will go to local food banks.
Robert Rockwood put up the built screen, set up the movie projector, and connected some large speakers for the outdoor movie night event.
The cost of putting the outdoor movie night event cost under $200.00 dollars.
ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez interviewed a Needles resident whole expressed his joy in having an event like this so that children, families, and the community can come together to watch a good movie under the Mojave Desert night sky.
