Needles, CA: Needles City Council approved “Operation of Vehicles” item last Tuesday.

 

 

During last Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting, Needles City Council Members voted on Consent Calendar Agenda Item #8 Ordinance No. 548-AC amending Article IV “Operation of Vehicles” Section 13-29 and 13-30-1 specific to speed limits.

The background on this agenda item states that Per Vehicle Code Section 40802 speed surveys must be conducted every five to ten years to determine if changes should be made to the speed limits.

 

 

The Division of Traffic Operations California Department of Transportation of District 8 performed a speed zone survey on Tuesday, June 19th, 2012 for State Route 95 through the City of Needles and they determined the posted speed limit should remain in place.

 

 

In the Needles City Council Agenda Item #8 packet is an attachment listing streets in Needles, California and their Prima Facie Speed Limits.

 

 

The Needles City Council Members approved all the Consent Calendar Agenda Items including Agenda Item #8 Ordinance No. 548-AC amending Article IV “Operation of Vehicles” Section 13-29 and 13-30-1 specific to speed limits.

From Cibola Street to C Street is 30mph.

 

From C Street to J Street is 30mph.

 

From J Street to Needles Highway is 35mph.

From Parkway Drive to D Street is 30mph.

 

 

– National Trails Highway also known as Route 66:

 

From West Park Road to Needles Highway is 45mph.

 

 

– Needles Highway:

 

From North K Street to West Broadway is 30mph.

 

From West Broadway to Interstate 40 Westbound On and Off Ramps is 30mph.

 

From Interstate 40 Westbound On and Off Ramps to Terrace Drive is 50mph.

 

From Terrace Drive to NCL also known as Budweiser Road is 55mph.

 

 

– West Park Road:

 

From National Trails Highway to Needles Highway is 55mph.

 

 

– River Road:

 

From North K Street to Jack Smith Park is 30mph.

 

 

– San Clemente Street:

 

From Clary Drive to Paseo Del Rey Street is 30mph.

 

From Paseo Del Rey Street to State Route 95 is 40mph.

 

 

– State Route 95:

 

From P.M. 56.62, 500 feet south to Morgan Street to P.M. 57.275, East Interstate 40 Junction is 40mph.
