Casa Grande, AZ: The man accused of the explosion at a Social Security Office in Casa Grande, Arizona was formally charged in United States District Court Monday afternoon in Phoenix, Arizona.
47 year old Abdullatif Aldosary of Coolidge, Arizona said nothing in court as he was charged with maliciously damaging federal property by means of explosives and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
On Friday, November 30th, 2012, a small explosion happened around 8:15am MT at the back entrance to the Social Security Administration located on the 500 block of North Marshall Street in Casa Grande, Arizona.
No reports of injuries in the explosion and damage to the back entrance to the Social Security Administration was not extensive, but the explosion did shook the buildings and the occupants who were working inside.
Abdullatif Aldosary was taken into police custody Friday afternoon accused of detonating an improvised explosive device (IED).
A search warrant was served on Abdullatif Aldosary’s home in Coolidge, Arizona and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents searched the home at around 9:00pm ET Friday night.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents found recipes on how to make explosives, 2 guns, and hundreds of runs of ammunition.
According to court records, Abdullatif Aldosary served prison time in Safford, Arizona in 2009 for aggravated harassment against his then employer at Hunter Contracting in Gilbert, Arizona.
Abdullatif Aldosary combined detention and status hearing is set for this Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at 1:30pm MT.
Abdullatif Aldosary remains in the custody of the United States Marshal’s Office.
