Interview with Saint Vincent de Paul regarding services they provide and the homeless in Needles.

Needles, CA: ZachNews has been reporting, the homeless issue in Needles, California has heated up after a member of the Needles Downtown Business Alliance (NDBA) slammed Saint Vincent de Paul for not doing enough to address the homeless problem in Needles, California and blamed St. Ann Catholic Chur

ch for providing lunch bags to the homeless on Mondays causing the homeless to loiter, commit crimes, and leave dog crap at Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California during a special meeting regarding Utility User Tax and Marijuana Business Tax Measures held on Wednesday. October 17th, 2012 at the Needles City Council Chambers in Needles, California

ZachNews has spoken to both St. Ann Catholic Church and St. John’s Church who are providing food to the homeless, families, and senior citizens, and even confirmed that St. Ann Catholic Church does not pass out lunch bags at Santa Fe Park on Mondays as what was blamed for and only passes out lunch bags on Wednesdays and Thursdays at St. Ann Catholic Church on Third Street near D Street which is blocks away from Santa Fe Park.

On Friday, November 16th, 2012, ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez stopped on into the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on Front Street in Downtown Needles, California as families with their children, senior citizens, unemployed workers, and those who are homeless lined up to receive bags of food donated by Saint Vincent de Paul and food commodities provide by the County of San Bernardino just a week before Thanksgiving Day.

Well inside the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez interviewed the Saint Vincent de Paul President Charles McKinnie regarding the services being provide to all of the families, senior citizens, unemployed workers, and to those who are homeless around our community and the comments made during a special meeting regarding Utility User Tax and Marijuana Business Tax Measures held on Wednesday. October 17th, 2012.

ZachNews Photojournalist Zachary A. Lopez also talked with Saint Vincent de Paul President Charles McKinnie about the upcoming Thanksgiving Dinner event being held inside St. Ann’s Hall at St. Ann Catholic Church located at 218 D Street at Third Street in Downtown Needles, California on Thursday, November 22nd, 2012 between 11:00am to 2:00pm PT which all are welcome.

Saint Vincent de Paul and the very few charitable organizations provide services, food, and clothing not only to the homeless, but also to families who are trying to survive from paycheck to paycheck, mothers who are trying to make sure they can feed their children, young adults and women who were left to survive on their own from abusive families or spouses, senior citizens who don’t have enough money to eat when utility bills are so high, those who are unemployed after losing their jobs, and veterans of our United States Military who need our deepest support for all they have done for our country.

Treating people disrespectfully for not having enough money, food to eat, a home to safety sleep at night, or not being in a position of power will not help, fix, or solve the issue.

Real action needs to be done to help, fix, or solve not only to provide those who are homeless with a hot meal, and warm place to sleep, and a way out of not being homeless with services to help them on schooling or jobbing skills, but to make sure to provide help and services that families can survive off of a paycheck, a mother can have enough money to feed her children, that young adults and women can receive the services to move them forward in life and rise above those who hurt them, that senior citizens can have enough money to both eat and pay their utility bills, that the unemployed can be hired at a great paying job, and veterans of our United States Military can be treated with the respect and dignity that they deserve.

We are all people and we should all be united a family in helping others and respecting others.
