Downtown Needles, CA: More information regarding the man found dead in Downtown Needles on Sunday.
A yellow tarp sheet covers a dead body found laying on the green grass in front of the Frontier Communications Office located at 911 West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California.
Earlier reports from a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Deputy was that the person may have died by natural causes, but a Red Dog Saloon patron had seen the man now was found dead.
According to the Red Dog Saloon patron, the man was inside the Red Dog Saloon located at 914 West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California late Saturday night after coming from a carnival being held around the corner at Santa Fe Park and was seen drinking when the man was, “86’ed” which means that the man was not allowed back and a Red Dog Saloon Employee escorted the man across the street tn the Frontier Communications Office property where the man was left there.
The Red Dog Saloon patron tells ZachNews that Nobody at the Red Dog Saloon called a taxi service car to pick the man up.
The man remained there in front of the Frontier Communications Office in Downtown Needles, California until late Saturday morning where a local Needles resident found the man dead.
The Red Dog Saloon patron tells ZachNews that the man was homeless and was staying with somebody in town.
On Tuesday, ZachNews contacted the Red Dog Saloon and spoken to nick who is an employee at the Red Dog Saloon and also seen what happen to the man found later dead.
Nick tells ZachNews that the man, who looked to be homeless, was there at the Red Dog Saloon.
The man didn’t drink to much that night but, “We found a bottle of “Wild Turkey” on him so he could of have been drinking all day,” said Red Dog Saloon Employee Nick.
Nick tells ZachNews that the man let himself out of a gate and was led out by a Red Dog Saloon Employee across the street where he sat down. the man told those who were assisting him that he wanted to go across the street.
“He said he wanted to go across the street,” said Red Dog Saloon Employee Nick.
ZachNews asked Nick if anybody called a taxi for the man to pick him up.
“No, he said he knew where he was going,” said Red Dog Saloon Employee Nick.
Nick later tells ZachNews that the man seem find being helped across the street.
“I was there for… I hung out after work for like little bit after and I was there when he got helped across the street and he seem find, and I don’t know if they called for a ride or not,” said Red Dog Saloon Employee Nick adding he knew his way back home was even eating a sandwich.
The body was later picked up and placed into the back of a white van belonging to Dimond & Sons Needles Mortuary located down the street on E Street in Downtown Needles, California.
