Needles, CA: On Saturday, October 13th, 2012, the community around Needles, California came walking and running together for a good cause during the 5th Annual Community 2K4 ‘R’ Kids held at Jack Smith Park in Needles, California.
Walkers and runners both kids, teens, adults, and dogs all came together walking and running along River Road near the Colorado River and into Downtown Needles, California.
Dan Kuch of Lake Havasu City, Arizona finished first during the 5th Annual Community 2K4 ‘R’ Kids 10K run and walk event. This was the three years in a row finishing first with a time of 34 minutes.

This family community event ended with a delicious barbecue lunch, relaxing massages at the massage booth, kids activities, bounce house, and a great dance performance by local dance team, “Dance Trax 51”.
The walk and run started in Memory of Kari Parker and Keira Lyn Parker who both lost their lives in a tragic automobile accident in 2007.
Matt Parker tells ZachNews that money raise from the 2K4 ‘R’ Kids event go to local school athletics, academics, and youth programs in Needles and around the Colorado River Tri-State area.
This year’s 2K4 ‘R’ Kids event had many more donations to their action and raffle event which included gift certificates to restaurants and spa services, to gift items and concert tickets; many of these donations coming from businesses in Needles, California and around the Colorado River Tri-State area.
