Needles community celebrates Rivers Edge Bar and Grill ribbon cutting.

  

Needles, CA: The public came out to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Rivers Edge Bar and Grill on Tuesday, September 18th, 2012.

 

Many who attended the ribbon cutting event got to enjoy great tasty food from Rivers Edge Bar and Grill as well as enjoy the nice very of the Colorado River.

 

Edge Bar and Grill is under new ownership and is cooking up tasty burgers, delicious sandwiches, and fresh salads.

 

Ed Glidewell and his nephew Mike Matzen teamed up to own and operate the Rivers Edge Bar and Grill serving great food and drinks in a golf club environment with a view of the beautiful Colorado River.

 

Employees at Rivers Edge Bar and Grill enjoyed the ribbon cutting event and were very happy to see so many people from the Needles community coming in and congratulating the employees and owners of the Rivers Edge Bar and Grill.

A boot-stomping-ball of a good time at the spaghetti dinner stampede.

  

Needles, CA: A Spaghetti Dinner Stampede fundraiser dinner event was held on Wednesday, September 12th, 2012 at the Needles Elks Lodge in Needles, California hosted by the C.R.R.U. Rodeo Royalty.

The first Spaghetti Dinner Stampede fundraiser dinner event sold over 500 spaghetti dinner plates last Wednesday night.

The spaghetti dinner included tasty spaghetti, fresh salad, delicious garlic bread, and yummy desserts and was created by an amazing group of caring and hard working volunteers.

According to Colorado River Round Up Queen Alexis Timm, the Spaghetti Dinner Stampede event raises money for the group’s travel, hotel, and the rodeo horses expenses well the group travels to other rodeo events representing Needles, California.

Donations for the Rodeo Royalty Spaghetti Dinner Stampede came from many caring and helpful organizations and businesses like Boot Barn, Needles Elks Lodge, Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant (Mohave Valley, Arizona), Neighborhood Car Wash (Fort Mohave, Arizona), Safeway Grocery Store, DECO Food Service, In and Out Burgers, Denny’s, Sam’s Club, Walmart Store, and many more.

The Spaghetti Dinner Stampede was a boot-stomping-ball of a good time by everybody who attended which many hope that this spaghetti dinner fundraiser dinner will become a part of the Needles spaghetti dinner traditions.

Plans for next year’s Colorado River Round Up Rodeo which is held at the Needles Rodeo Grounds in Needles, California are still in the works and no date has been set at this time.

Downtown Needles, CA: The Needles Downtown Business Alliance and Needles Chambers of Commerce kicked off their monthly Meet ‘n’ Greet event held on Wednesday, September 12th, 2012 at the Saint Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Downtown Needles, California.

 

 

Members of the business community around Needles, California came out to the  meet ‘n’ greet event and got to learn about what Saint Vincent de Paul does for this community which provides food, clothing, and services to help those in need and those who are homeless.

 

 

Co-owner of the Wagon Wheel Restaurant Susan Alexis won $60.00 during a 50/50 raffle and donated her prize money to both Saint Vincent de Paul and to the Needles Downtown Business Alliance.

A Back 2 School Friday Fiesta is being held on Friday, September 28th, 2012 starting at 5:00pm to 8:00pm PT at the Needles Senior Center located at 1699 Bailey Avenue in Needles, California.

Dinner plates are $5.00 per plate and comes with 2 tacos, rice and beans, drink, and dessert.

There will be also a 50/50 raffle at the Back 2 School Friday Fiesta event.

All proceeds will go towards Parent Teacher Association (PTA) events throughout the school year.

San Bernardino, CA: The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors will be having a special meeting to consider various actions related to the proposed Cadiz Valley Water Conservation, Recovery and Storage Project on Monday, October 1st, 2012.

 

 

This special meeting starts at 10:00am PT and will be held inside the Chamber of the Board of Supervisors which is on the First Floor of the San Bernardino County Government Center located at 385 North Arrowhead Avenue in San Bernardino, California.

 

 

San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors actions would include consideration of a proposed groundwater management, monitoring and mitigation plan, consideration of the project environmental impact report, and consideration of findings relevant to the county’s role as a responsible agency under the California Environmental Quality Act.

 

 

The Cadiz Water Project would provide water to six water districts throughout Southern California by extracting millions of acre feet of underground water from an area of the Mojave Desert located about 40 miles northeast of Twentynine Palms, California and move the extracted underground water along a 43 mile pipeline to the Colorado River Aqueduct which the water will be sent to coastal cities in Southern California.

But since news broke about Bank of America closing their bank branch in Downtown Needles, California on Friday, January 25th, 2012, a rise of rumors saying this business or that business is closing is causing many of people to stress out and cause more harm to those businesses that are not closing.

 

 

The latest rumor to spread along the Colorado River Tri-State are is about the Burger Hut eatery located at 701 West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California.

 

 

The rumor is telling people along the Colorado River Tri-State that the Burger Hut eatery is closing

 

 

ZachNews can confirm that the Burger Hut eatery in Downtown Needles, California is not closing and that the rumor is just hurting business.

 

 

Burger Hut owner Angelma Johnson confirms with ZachNews PhotojournalistZachary A. Lopez that, “We (Burger Hut) are not closing” adding that she is getting tired of those rumors.

 

 

According to Burger Hut owner Angelma Johnson, Burger Hut did have to close on the weekends, change their hours of business, and raise their prices due to the current economic slow down, but that can change if conditions get better.

 

 

The best way to help local businesses hanging on in this current economic slow down crisis is to go to that business and spend enough money as you are able to on that business rather than spreading rumors and lies that can just harm businesses and can lead to a real closure.
