The 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Event Rides Off Into The Sunset.

Needles, CA: The 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up event in Needles, California rides off into the sunset after 3 days of food, fun, dancing, bull riding, bronc riding, team roping, and barrel racing that many people from throughout the Colorado River Tri-State area enjoyed.

The fun kicked off on Thursday night with the Rodeo In The Park at Santa Fe Park in Downtown Needles, California which was sponsored by the Needles Downtown Business Alliance and Chairperson Bob Browder.

There was a Horseshoe Tournament and for the children, there was three bounce houses, pony rides, face painting, and a Mutton Bustin’ Contest.

Live music was performed by Rodney Mouton and the Trax 51 Dancers did an great performance for the large crowd of people at the Rodeo In The Park event.

There were a lot of delicious food to try during the Rodeo In The Park event such as big baked potatoes loaded up with all your favorite toppings served at the Needles Sandsharks Swim Team booth, tasty brownies and cookies served at the Woman’s Club of Needles booth, crunchy tacos served at the Colorado River Medical Center booth, yummy hamburgers served at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant booth, and fresh fried bread served at the Fort Mojave Senior Mothers both.

Money made by the Needles Downtown Business Alliance went to pay for the Rodeo In The Park event and for the new Route 66 Signs that will go on top of all the street signs along the historic and world famous Route 66 in Needles, California.

Winds and heavy rain moved on over the Needles Rodeo Grounds during Friday’s 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo event causing some of the lights in the arena to blow out continuing the rodeo event in the dark for a few moments. Many in the crowd had to run for cover or decided to go home even when the rodeo event was still going on.

ZachNews remained at the Needles Rodeo Grounds to cover the rodeo event even with the heavy rain and cold weather conditions were still over Needles, California.

Because of the heavy rain and lights being blown out, Friday’s 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo event had to be continued onto Saturday morning.

Friday’s 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo event continued Saturday morning with a light rain falling but the rodeo event went on as planned. ZachNews was there to film that continued Friday rodeo event and will be posting the video on ZachNews.

The rain also cancelled Saturday’s 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo Parade that was to roll down West Broadway in Downtown Needles, California.

But the rain didn’t stop a delicious and fresh pancake breakfast served up by the Needles High School Baseball Team.

“It was delicious,” according to ZachNews reporter Zachary Lopez as he eats well reporting on the parade.

The Mutton Bustin Contest and Lil Wrangler Rodeo event didn’t stop rain and the little rodeo event went on as planned bringing family fun to the younger kids as well as the older kids too.

The rodeo event started with the Golden West Cowgirls Drill Team from Phoenix, Arizona as they rode on into the Needles Rodeo Ground’s arena carrying the beautiful United States of America flag than carrying out the flags of the United States Military as the crowd cheered and stood proudly giving their thanks to their country. and for those man and woman who fought for their country’s freedoms.

The Grand Marshal for the 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up event and longtime community supporter Jerry Lewis was brought into the Needles Rodeo Ground’s arena by horse drawn carriage as he waved at the crowd.

Saturday’s 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo event brought out the bull riding, bronc riding, team roping, barrel racing, and even motorcycle barrel racing.

Saturday’s 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo event had the crowd up from the seats as a funny rodeo clown started dancing and telling the crowds his funny stories well watching out for wild bulls.

The public also got to check out the wonderful rodeo and western merchandise being sold at the rodeo event as well as delicious food vendors.

Some of those delicious food vendors were River Dogs which cooked up a Los Angeles base bacon wrapped quarter of a pound Hebrew National hot dog with onions and bell peppers loaded on top, and for dessert, fresh homemade funnel cakes from Campbell’s Funnel Cake loaded with cherries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce toppings.

After the rodeo event, the group Littletown performed at the Rodeo Dance under a beautiful clear night near a warn fire pit.

The 36th Annual Colorado River Round Up event was fun for the whole family and at the end of the day had many in the crowd were cheering for more and plan to come back again next year.
