Remembering the Victims of the Oikos University Shooting.

Oakland, CA: Hundreds of people came together as a community to the Allen Temple Baptist Church Tuesday night to remember the victims of Monday’s deadly shooting at Oikos University in Oakland, California.

At around 10:33am PT on Monday, April 2nd, 2012; a man of an American of Korean origin walks into Oikos University, located on the 7800 block of Edgewater Drive, carrying a gun and began shooting students inside.

7 students were killed and 3 students were injured. The 7 students who were killed in Monday’s Shooting Rampage At Oikos University have been identified as:

– 23 year old Grace Kim of Union City, California
– 21 year old Lydia Sim of Hayward, California
– 33 year old Sonam Choedon of El Cerrito, California
– 40 year old Doris Chibuko of San Leandro, California
– 53 year old Judith Seymore of San Jose, California
– 38 year old Bhutia Tshering of San Francisco, California
– 24 year old Katleen Ping of Oakland, California

The gunman has been identified by the Oakland Police Department as 43 year old One Goh of Oakland, California and use to be a student at Oikos University.

One Goh was arrested 5 miles away from Oikos University at the Safeway grocery store located at 2227 South Shore Center in Alameda, California.

One Goh has told investigators that he wanted to get back at the school for expelling him for bad behavior and he also had a grudge against classmates who teased him.

Media outlets are reports that One Goh had a troubled life before Monday’s shooting rampage.

According to ABC affiliated KGO Channel 7 in San Francisco, California; “His brother Su Won Ko, with whom he was especially close, was an Army Sgt. who was killed last year in a car accident while he was training for the Special Forces. One Goh also had a mountain of financial problems when he lived in Virginia, prior to moving to the Bay Area. He was heavily in debt to banks and apartments, and had tens of thousands of dollars in liens, one from the IRS. At one time, he owed more than $2,300 in taxes.”

Oakland Police confirmed that they’re searching for a semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting and One Goh may have thrown the gun into water off of Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland, California. Dive teams are searching the water for a weapon.

Last Monday’s shooting rampage at Oikos University in Oakland, California is under investigation.

Governor of California Jerry Brown released a statement about the Oikos University shooting saying, “The tragic loss of life at Oikos University today is shocking and sad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and friends, and the entire community affected by this senseless act of violence.”
