Needles City Council Gets An Update On The Progress of the Sale of Colorado River Medical.

Needles, CA: At last Tuesday’s Needles City Council Meeting, the City Council got an update on the progress of the sale of Colorado River Medical Center in Needles, California by Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine.

Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine talked the Needles City Council the check list for Needles Hospital Inc. CF loan application that Needles Hospital Inc. is working with the USDA is moving quickly; not as quickly as Needles Hospital Inc. would like.

Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine brought up two items from that check list that Needles Hospital Inc. that haven’t been address out of the 18 items on the check list and according to Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine have been completed and approved.

The question on the minds of everyone is will the County of San Bernardino support Needles Hospital Inc. taking control of Colorado River Medical Center.

Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine read to the Needles City Council a letter supporting Needles Hospital Inc. address to the United States Department of Agriculture by San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt.

“To whom it may concern,” said Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine as she reads the letter from San Bernardino County Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt, “Please accept this letter as a demonstration of support for Needles Hospital Inc. regarding their acquisition efforts for Colorado River Medical Center; which is currently own by the City of Needles, California. As you are aware Needles Hospital Inc. is seeking funding from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development Agency (USDARD) to insisting in with the purchase and regulatory renovations needed to continue to provide critical health care services to the residents of the Needles area. Further, USDARD requires that Needles Hospital Inc. application include a letter or a certificate of support from the various local affected governmental entities. As first district supervisor for the County of San Bernardino, I strongly endorse the objectives that Needles Hospital Inc. in their goal to provide health care services to a underserve rural area in our county. I also understand that this letter in no way obligates the County or Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County beyond this letter of support. Needles Hospital Inc. will be including this letter in their application packet and the County appreciates any strong consideration that the USDARD can give in this effort again. In the spirit of continuing the provisions of health care services to the citizens of Needles, California.”

Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine after reading the letter tells the Needles City Council that Needles Hospital Inc. is moving along and not needing an extension.

“So we’re moving along; we don’t see any need as this day – you know people wonder well, let us know – we are not getting an extension; an extension we are not participating needing an extension or even having to ask for that.

As for the dateline for closing escrow, Needles Hospital Inc. President Rebecca Valentine wanted to clear that up to the Needles City Council saying,

“April 27th is actually the dateline because so many times we heard we got to check almost written to the City by the 27th of April and what that is we need written approval of the necessary financing in such period and obtain the necessary funding commitment to closing escrow no later than 5’o clock on the closing day and that closing date is May 25th; the actually closing date of escrow and we are going to do that.”
