The Planning Commission of the City of Needles Approves Radio / Broadcasting Transmitter Tower for Local Church.

Needles, CA: The Planning Commission of the City of Needles Approves Radio / Broadcasting Transmitter Tower for Local Church.

At Wednesday’s Planning Commission of the City of Needles Meeting, a public hearing was held to consider the approval of a Conditional Use Permit to allow a 105′ radio / broadcasting transmitter tower in a Residential 1 Zone.

The 105′ radio / broadcasting transmitter tower would be used for a radio station near the Needles Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 1405 Lillyhill Drive in Needles, California.

The area in which the 105′ radio / broadcasting transmitter tower would go is on the back south side of the church in an open dirt area and looking over a gully.

Members of Needles Seventh-Day Adventist Church and even nearby some neighbors support the plan to have a radio / broadcasting transmitter tower in their area which would broadcast family religion programing on 103.1 FM as well as be there to use in case of emergencies that the radio station can help in broadcasting messages out to the public, according to Luis Bravo of Needles Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

But there was some opposed to the idea of a radio / broadcasting transmitter tower blocking the great view of the desert landscape as well as concerns if the radio / broadcasting transmitter tower would mess with other broadcasting signals for television and radio.

After hearing at all evidence and testimony for or against the radio / broadcasting transmitter tower, Planning Commission Members voted unanimously to approve the 105’ radio / broadcasting transmitter tower near Needles Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
