Needles Hospital Inc. Clears Board of Hospital Trustees; Final Decision Rest On The Needles City Council Tonight.

Needles, CA: After lots of debating, reading shacks of documents, and arguing back and forth on whose bid on the sale of the Colorado River Medical Center is best suited for both the community and those working at the hospital, the Board of Hospital Trustees last Thursday voted 3 to 2 in favor of Needles Hospital Inc.

Now the Needles City Councilmembers will have the final decision on the sale of the Colorado River Medical Center at Tuesday, January 10th, 2012 Needles City Council Meeting.

The Needles City Council Meeting starts at 6:00pm PT at the Needles City Council Chambers off of J Street near Bailey Ave. in Needles, California.

At both the Hospital Sale Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting and Board of Hospital Trustees Meetings last Thursday, the decision to go with Needles Hospital Inc. came down to who was going to keep the employees at Colorado River Medical Center after the hospital is sold and who the Ad-Hoc Committee and Board of Hospital Trustees Members feel had the best interest of the hospital on getting things in order and keeping the hospital up and running.

But the vote came without its moments; AM Pharmacy who was another bidder for the hospital was a no show at both the Hospital Sale Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting and Board of Hospital Trustees Meetings. Another moment came when news that one of the Board of Hospital Trustees Members was place as a member of the broad of directors for AM Pharmacy which Board of Hospital Trustees Member Tom Darcy said had nothing to do with that or don’t know why his name was on there.

After lots of debating during the Hospital Sale Ad-Hoc Committee Meeting, the Hospital Sale Ad-Hoc Committee Members pass their comments and recommendations to the Board of Hospital Trustees Members for their say and possible vote regarding the sale of the hospital.

After lots of debating, reading shacks of documents, hearing from the potential buyers, and arguing back and forth over the issue during the Board of Hospital Trustees Meeting, Board of Hospital Trustees Member Tom Darcy made a motion to the Board of Hospital Trustees.

Clerk of the Hospital Board Cheryl Sallis reads Board of Hospital Trustees Member Tom Darcy’s motion for Item 6(B),

“To accept and pass to the City Council (Needles City Council), NHI’s (Needles Hospital Inc.) proposal number 2 for the purchase of the hospital (Colorado River Medical Center) subject to a mutually acceptable agreement be agreed to by buy and seller and agreed to by the City Council.”

The motion was motioned 1st by Board of Hospital Trustees Member Tom Darcy and 2nd by Martha Middleton.
