Needles, California: Cowboy carnival, horseshoe tournament, pancake breakfast, parade and rodeo performances and dance will all be happening at the 35th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo.

The 35th Annual Colorado River Round Up Rodeo and Cowboy is sponsored by Colorado River Medical Center and the City of Needles, and will be three days of fun starting on Thursday March 31st, 2011 until Saturday, April 2nd, 2011.

The three days of events kick off at 5:00 p.m. PT on Thursday March 31st, 2011 with the Cowboy Carnival at Rodeo Nite in the Park, sponsored by Boot Barn, happening at Santa Fe Park located along the 900 block of Front Street between G Street and F Street in Downtown Needles, California.

There will also be a horseshoe tournament during Friday’s Cowboy Carnival at Rodeo Nite in the Park.

All ages welcome; team tournament; 2 players required. Entry fee is $5.00 per player. Prizes and awards to 1st and 2nd place winners.

On Friday, April 1st, 2011, there will be rodeo performance occurring at the Needles Rodeo Grounds, located at 1001 San Clemente Street near Clary Drive in Needles, California.

Starting at 8:00 a.m. PT on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011, there will be a pancake breakfast in the parking lot near the Frontier Communications office located at 911 West Broadway near F Street in Downtown Needles, California.

Later at 10:00 a.m. PT on Saturday, there will be a rodeo parade along West Broadway from D Street to I Street in Downtown Needles, California.

People line up early to enjoy people on horseback, marching bands and some decorative vehicle entrees during the rodeo parade.

Later on Saturday, there will be more rodeo performance occurring at the Needles Rodeo Grounds.

Following the rodeo performances on Friday and Saturday, there will be a rodeo dance held at the Needles Rodeo Grounds immediately after; featuring “Silver Wings Band” on Friday and “Little Town” on Saturday.

Due to the Cowboy Carnival at Rodeo Nite in the Park and Rodeo Parade all happening in Downtown Needles, California, motorists should be aware of road closures for these events.

  • For Thursday’s Cowboy Carnival at Rodeo Nite: Front Street between F Street and G Street; F Street between Front Street and West Broadway; and G Street between Front Street and West Broadway.
  • For Saturday’s Rodeo Parade: D Street between Front Street and West Broadway; West Broadway from D Street to I Street; and I Street between Front Street and West Broadway.

Ticket information for the rodeo performances on Friday and Saturday at the Needles Rodeo Grounds are $10.00 for Seniors; $12.00 for Adults (13 years old and older); $10.00 for older kids (from 6 years old to 12 years old); and Free for younger kids (5 years old and younger).

The tickets can be purchased at the Needles Rodeo Grounds on Friday and Saturday before the rodeo performances start.
